Product overload is real.

Walk into any beauty supply and there are hundreds of bottles claiming to work for your hair. Most of the advice online is written for straight or loosely curled hair and lightly reworded for everyone else. Lush Fiber exists to cut through that.

We cover textured, natural, coily, and protective-style hair specifically — 4A through 4C, locs, braids, and everything that comes with them.

How we pick products

We’re a research site, not a testing lab. Here’s exactly what that means:

• We read the formula. Ingredient order, protein-to-moisture balance, which silicones and alcohols are present and where they fall on the list.
• We read the reviews at scale. Hundreds of them per product, filtered for people with a similar texture and porosity to the section we’re writing for — because a 5-star review from someone with 2B waves tells you nothing about 4C hair.
• We match products to hair, not to hype. Every pick says who it’s for and who should skip it. A product that’s perfect for high porosity hair can be a waste of money for low porosity.
• We say the downside. Every recommendation on this site names at least one real drawback. If we can’t find one, we don’t publish the pick.

What we don’t do: we don’t run controlled trials, we don’t accept free product for coverage, and we never invent star ratings, review counts, or personal anecdotes about using something.

How we make money

Some links on this site are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one, we earn a small commission — the price you pay is exactly the same.

Two things that follow from that, and we want to be direct about them:

• No brand pays to be listed here. There are no sponsored placements, paid reviews, or “partner” slots. A brand cannot buy its way onto a list.
• Commission never decides ranking. Several picks on this site are budget products under $10 that earn us almost nothing. They’re there because they’re the right answer.

Affiliate revenue keeps the site running. If it ever conflicts with giving you the right recommendation, the recommendation wins — otherwise there’s no reason for you to be here.
